Welcome to the website of Carmarthen and District  Beekeeping Association. The Association has been established for over 100 years. Originally divided into five Branches around the County, the Association is for both people interested in beekeeping and bees in the center  and west of the county of Carmarthenshire.     We used to be called Carmarthenshire Beekeepers Association but we are  in the process of changing both the structure and name of the association. Our aims are to :-

  • Provide support,  training,  advice and guidance for people interested in  traditional and sustainable bee keeping practices at both levels for beginners and experienced beekeepers whilst promoting the highest standards of welfare for bees.  Due to Government advice to minimise non-essential social contact, CBKA will, with great regret, not be running any training course or practical sessions on beekeeping this 2020 season.
  • We also support projects to raise the awareness of the  general public of the environmental benefits of bees.
  • We work to support land owners in understanding the needs of bees.
  • We connect households with bee keepers will to assist in catching swarms of bees.

During winter and early spring we organise talks on subjects related to bees every month in Carmarthen details of which are included on the Events page.. During the main Season we usually run training events at the Associations’ Apiary.  Please check the Training Page for latest dates and times. The Association is affiliated to the Welsh BeeKeepers Association.
